From working in her spare bedroom to creating a multi award-winning business with more than 15 staff in modern offices at Gloucestershire Airport, when Ellen Roome set up The Finance Roome in 2006, she had one priority in mind – to provide her customers with the best service possible.
Over the past 15 years, Ellen’s drive to create a highly accredited financial services business has seen her achieve her objective. Supported by a team of 6 advisers and skilled and knowledgeable admin staff, the business deals with hundreds of clients each month and has an envious reputation for excellent customer service.
Communication is key.
Communication is at the heart of good service – being able to talk to the same person who knows your situation every time you call and being kept informed throughout each stage of the process. When you deal with a bank, you are often just a number, never speaking to the same person twice. Ellen has dealt with most scenarios during her 25 years in financial services and loves a challenge. The business provides both mortgages and insurance products, but it’s mortgages that can sometimes be more complicated. If there is a legal way to make something happen to enable the client to purchase their chosen property then Ellen strives to find a solution.
“We use any lender we can to make this happen,” says Ellen. “That might be mainstream lenders, the likes of Halifax, Barclays, Santander, NatWest or more unusual lenders such as Swansea Building Society or Market Harborough. All lenders treat clients and their situation differently and with the mass of knowledge we have as a tight knit team, we normally find a solution. I hate the word NO!”
